FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY seeks applicants for TWO faculty positions in TEACHER EDUCATION to begin Fall 2012, including (1) an open-rank position in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field and (2) an Assistant Professor position in Science, Chemistry, or Physics Education. FIU is committed to innovation in STEM education and the successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary faculty team. Both openings are joint positions between the Department of Teaching & Learning in the College of Education and the appropriate disciplinary department in the College of Arts & Sciences. The tenure home will be in Education or Arts & Sciences depending on the candidate’s credentials. Evidence of reform-based university teaching experience in math and/or science education is strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to research in mathematics or science education is expected; grant procurement commensurate with level of position and experience is recommended. Evidence of experience with culturally and linguistically diverse students, commitment to mentoring graduate students and/or experience working with public schools and/or other community agencies is preferred.
