Position Description:
The Institute for Research on Mathematics and Science Education at Michigan State University is a joint effort between the College of Natural Science and the College of Education to research innovation in mathematics and science teaching and learning K-16. The Institute (IRMSE.msu.edu) provides support for faculty from mathematics and science education and the College of Natural Science to engage in collaborative research. The Institute was formed in 2010 with the goal of becoming a nationally recognized hub for research, policy and leadership in mathematics and science education, aiming to encourage and support projects that address the teaching and learning of science and mathematics at all levels. The Institute provides a stimulating environment for motivated individuals to engage in challenging mathematics and science education research.
Duties:
Provide leadership and participate in various middle through high school research projects; Participate in the development of new research projects; Write research reports and manuscripts; write and manage IRB; Participate in overall direction of the Institute; Participate with grant PIs in the development of data sharing plans of research, including development of web sites; Manage and analyze data; Present work and research results to various K-16 audiences/stakeholders.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Science or Science Education with Masters in Science or Mathematics Education. Strong background in chemistry or molecular biology; Teaching experience in K-12 science or mathematics; Ability to write and communicate with a variety of audiences; Leadership experience; Data management and analysis experience.
