Department Chair an University of Colorado Denver
The Department of Physics at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Department Chair. We seek an innovative, resourceful, and dynamic leader to help build and mentor a small but growing department and facilitate regional collaborations. The Physics Department offers bachelor’s degrees in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. An orientation towards applied research with a focus on biophysics and instrumentation builds upon connections with Colorado’s many research centers, including the Anschutz Medical Campus and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Applicants should have teaching experience and a distinguished record of scholarly publication and active research program in any area (experimental, theoretical, and computational) that would qualify for tenure at UCD preferably at the rank of Professor. Applicants must have documented leadership skills. Salary is commensurate with experience. Applications must include a letter of introduction, a CV, research, teaching and administrative statements, and the names of references to be contacted after consultation with the candidate. The full announcement and instructions for submitting applications can be found at www.jobsatcu.com (under job posting number 816235). Review of applications begins February 15, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. Questions should be directed to Laura Argys, Physics Search Committee Chair, at Laura.Argys@ucdenver.edu.
