TT in Science Ed at Texas Christian University

Position:
The College of Education seeks a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor in Science Education. This faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in science education. Although applicants’ research interests might be diverse, they should have demonstrated experience in science education research and experience in classrooms necessary to contribute to the conceptualization and development of an innovative science teacher education program. Additional expectations include collaboration in multidisciplinary program development, advising and mentoring students, writing grant proposals, participating in service activities, and serving on assigned college and university committees.

TCU and the College of Education (COE) are committed to the teacher scholar model. Faculty are dedicated to research that informs teaching and classroom practices. The COE is committed to preparing educators to work with diverse students. The Andrews Institute of Mathematics & Science Education (http://www.AndrewsInstitute.tcu.edu/) is housed in the COE. Faculty affiliated with the Andrews Institute work collaboratively in support of scholarship and teaching (e.g., funding, connections with local schools, and professional development).

Qualifications:
1. An earned doctorate in science education, curriculum and instruction, or a closely related field (or expected completion prior to August 2012).
2. Demonstrated scholarship related to the position.
3. Commitment to inclusive field-based teacher preparation programs.

Starting Date: August 2012
