Position Summary: Sinclair Community Colleges is a comprehensive community college with an enrollment of over 23,000 students and offers career and transfer programs leading to an associate degree, certificate programs, and continuing education opportunities. The Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Division at Sinclair is currently seeking candidates for a tenure track opening in Physics beginning August 16, 2014. Application review will begin on 5/23/14. All faculty positions are pending final budget approval.
Principle Accountabilities: Carry out the six Critical Performance areas of a tenure-track appointment: Scholarship and Professional Growth Teaching and Learning Facilitation Assessment and Evaluation Student Development Curriculum Design Workplace and Community Service *Participate in student enrollment and outreach
Requirements: *Master's in Physics or a related field. *Teaching experience, including online modality preferred. *Must be willing to teach in a multi-campus environment. * A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level, including ability to teach in a student-centered active learning model * Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community PLEASE NOTE: To apply, submit through the college's online application system the following: * a cover letter that describes teaching experience * a statement of the applicant's teaching philosophy * a resume or vita that describes relevant academic and professional experience, recent professional development activities, and professional goals * transcripts for all postsecondary degrees * two letters of recommendation * licensure or certification verification, if required above Applicants who do not have an electronic version of transcripts or letters of recommendation may mail or fax those documents to the Office of Human Resources, Sinclair Community College, 444 W.
