George Fox University announces a one-year visiting position in
Physics to begin August 2014. George Fox University seeks faculty
members
who are enthusiastic about the university's mission "George Fox

integrity, and serve with passion." Professors teach all truth as God's
truth, integrating all fields of learning around the person and work of
Jesus Christ. Applicants must have a personal commitment to Jesus
Christ and express their Christian testimony by participating in a local
church. In addition, professors consent to live in agreement with
the university lifestyle statement and affirm the theological
commitments expressed in the university's statement of
faith.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We seek applicants with the ability to
teach a range of undergraduate physics courses, including General
Physics (both algebra and calculus based), Contemporary Physics, and
accompanying laboratories. In addition, the successful candidate will
be expected to work collaboratively with other program faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A Master's degree in Physics (or closely related
field) is required; PhD preferred.
· Previous teaching experience at the university-level preferred.
· Experience in
operating physics laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
· Commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
SALARY AND
RANK
Appointment at the Instructor level is anticipated, although a
successful candidate holding a terminal degree with at least five
years of relevant experience may be appointed as Visiting Assistant
Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable
institutions.
