Mercyhurst University is seeking candidates for an Instructor position within the Department of Physics beginning fall 2016. This position requires a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field, with preference given to the field of physics education research (PER).
The ideal candidates will be dedicated to student-centered teaching in the introductory and undergraduate physics curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to engage undergraduate students in low-cost research programs in their area of interest using shared departmental research space.

Tenure-track position:
Mercyhurst University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position within the Department of Physics beginning fall 2016. This position requires a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field, with preference given to the fields of biophysics and medical physics.
The ideal candidates will have relevant post-doctoral experience, taught courses, and mentored research students at a primarily undergraduate institution. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include introductory physics courses as well as some upper-division physics major courses. The candidate is expected to develop an active undergraduate research program in their area of interest using shared departmental research space.
