Positions: Non-tenure-track faculty positions available August 15, 2016, pending funding. The positions are a one year, full-time 9 month appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 additional years depending on performance, departmental needs, and funding.
Responsibilities: Teaching a range of introductory physics and Astronomy courses and advanced physics courses.
Required Qualifications:
  •   Ph.D. in Physics or related field. ABD (with Master’s degree in Physics) will be considered with completion by the date of appointment.
Candidates will be evaluated on:
  • Ability to teach a wide range of courses in an undergraduate physics curriculum
  • Ability to teach introductory Astronomy
  • Commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential teaching effectiveness
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous experience at a liberal arts institution
  • Research experience in physics or related field, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications

Program: The Department of Physics is part of the School of Science and Mathematics at Truman State University. The department has 7 faculty members and approximately 80 undergraduate majors.
