Director of Research and Evaluation at Hezel Associates

Hezel Associates, LLC (www.hezel.com), a growing research and evaluation firm with over 20 years of experience serving education leaders in higher education and PK-12, seeks a dynamic Director of Research and Evaluation. Over the course of the company's history, we have conducted policy and market research and evaluation on issues of distance learning, technology, teacher professional development, literacy, math and science, as well as numerous other topics.

The Director of Research and Evaluation will provide vision and leadership for Hezel Associates' response to the increasing need for research and evaluation services in the field of education. The Director will work with the CEO and the leadership team to set the direction for guiding evaluation projects, leading a process of continuous improvement that ensures quality and sustainability, and developing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

* Develop new business opportunities by networking with current and potential clients, attending selected conferences and leading RFP responses, proposal development, writing and design.
* Work with company senior staff to identify strategic directions.
* Oversee and lead multiple research teams in the execution of high-quality, multi-level, multi-method research and evaluations in education settings.
* Train and coach staff on quality in research design, analysis, reporting and dissemination of findings.
* Work with the CEO to ensure the quality of research and evaluation products and efficiency and productivity of staff.

Qualifications

* Experience leading, conducting and managing research and evaluation projects that require multiple qualitative and quantitative research designs and methodologies.
* Demonstrated evidence of successful and creative project design, development and management.
* Experience in successful business development and proposal writing.
* Experience working in the education sector and a demonstrated familiarity with the policy issues and challenges of public PK-12 education as well as public, private, and proprietary postsecondary education.
* Ph.D. or Ed.D. in social sciences, education, research and evaluation, statistical measurement or a field related to the business of Hezel Associates.
* Expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
* Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral communication skills.
* Publications in academic or professional journals or other professional writing.
* Strong project management skills and consultative skills.
* Ability to travel as needed.

Hezel Associates' principal office is located in Syracuse, New York and the successful candidate will be expected to work in that location.
