Instructor at East Georgia College

East Georgia College has the following full-time vacancies:
* Instructor/Assistant Professor of Physics/Physical Science

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time faculty at East Georgia College teach 15-16 semester credit hours on and/or off campus, day and/or evening. In addition to teaching, faculty are responsible for professional development, service to the institution and community, academic advisement, and instructional assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate preferred. Masters degree with a minimum of eighteen graduate semester credit hours of subject specific work in the field required. Candidates should be committed to the two-year college mission, with a primary interest in the teaching/learning process as related to the two-year college student. The successful candidates for the mathematics and English positions must have a strong interest in teaching developmental courses and working with under-prepared students. Commitment to excellent student advising is essential. Competence in electronic communications, as well as distance learning, is desired.

RANKS AND SALARIES: Dependent on qualifications and experience. Ten month contract; summer teaching possible.

THE INSTITUTION: East Georgia College is located in rural southeast Georgia. Swainsboro and Emanuel County, home of East Georgia College, have a population of 23,000 people. East Georgia College serves approximately 2,500 students and provides programs leading to the Associate in Arts and the Associate in Applied Science degrees. In addition to the main campus located in Swainsboro, the College also serves off-campus sites, the largest of which is located in Statesboro, GA.
