Minimum Experience: Doctorate in Science Education, or related field. Experience teaching at the pre-college levels in middle or secondary school science. Teaching or experience working in informal settings a plus. This is nine-month, tenure track appointment effective August 16, 2009, in an active department of 25 full-time faculty members.

Preferred Experience: With a focus on needed 21st century skills, the successful candidate must be prepared to provide leadership to the Science Education undergraduate and graduate programs. Experience and interest in applying instructional technology to one's own teaching is highly desirable.

Essential duties: Conduct a focused program of research and scholarship in science education. Participate in an innovative, field-based teacher education program teaching methodology courses, supervising clinical field experiences, advising and mentoring students. NC State is a research extensive university and our faculties are active in contributing to the research mission of the university via grant proposals, refereed publications, and collaborations that transcend traditional curriculum lines. All faculty members are expected to provide service at the local, state, and national levels.
