TT at Philander Smith College

Philander Smith College invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position of Assistant Professor of Physics beginning August 2009. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching a minimum of 12 credit hours, which will include at least one course of University Physics and one course in General Physics. Each of these courses requires a laboratory component, which will also be the responsibility of the Professor. Research, professional development and other scholarly activities are expected. The Assistant Professor is expected to be involved in recognized professional associations. Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience using technology inside and outside of the classroom. Minimum education requirements are a Master's degree in Physics, but a Doctorate degree is preferred. Minimum work experience requirements include 2 years of teaching Physics at the college level.
