VAP at Gustavus Adolphus College

Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a one (or possibly two) year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Physics to begin September 1, 2013. We seek candidates who have an earned doctorate in physics, but will consider candidates who have achieved ABD status. The successful candidate must have a record of successful physics teaching at the TA level or beyond, and be comfortable teaching with modern laboratory instructional equipment and software. Gustavus Adolphus College is a coeducational, private, residential, national liberal arts college of 2500 students. The Physics Department offers a comprehensive major and graduates an average of 15 students per year, of whom a very high percentage pursue graduate and professional degrees. The department is staffed by 6 FTE faculty, and is housed in the well?equipped 64,000 square?foot Olin Hall of Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
