Instructor at Madison College


This is a full time position beginning with the Fall 2013-2014 academic year. Starting salary $52,607 – $87,743* depending on qualifications and experience. Salary is based on a nine-month teaching contract. Newly hired instructors serve a three-year probationary period.


*The salary schedule for the Fall 2013-2014 academic year will be adjusted pending publication of the recently amended collective bargaining agreement for 2011-2014.

Madison College provides a generous benefit package. These positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement, including a fair share provision.
Start date: August, 2013.


This position is responsible for instruction in Physics at the college level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.

This position reports to the Dean of Arts and Sciences.

Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in physics, engineering, or related physical science with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credits in physics or physics-intensive discipline courses.
2. One (1) year (2000 hours) of non-teaching work experience.
3. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level or advanced high school level in physics, mathematics, or related physical science.
