Lab Manager, University of Arizona

The Department of Physics within the College of Science at the University of Arizona is seeking a Laboratory Manager who will manage the operational, instructional and day-to-day activities in the department's laboratory classes. The physics department teaches approximately 1500 students each semester in introductory laboratories covering mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and optics. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for setting up the weekly experiments and for assigning, training, and supervising the teaching assistants who will run the laboratory sections. This includes ensuring that appropriate safety precautions are taken in all laboratories. The Laboratory Manager will also be responsible for managing the advanced laboratory courses taken by the department's physics majors.

 Additional information:
 Masters degree in physics or a related field AND three years of teaching experience which includes two years of supervisory experience; Or, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD and to applicants who have laboratory supervisory experience in a university physics department.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
