Teaching Lab Manager, Univ of Arizona

The Department of Physics within the College of Science at the University of Arizona is seeking to find a Laboratory Manager that will manage the operational and instructional activities in a large lab teaching program. The chosen candidate will ensure that all laboratories have an assigned qualified and trained instructor, and that students are enrolled in the proper lab and that the lab continues to operate according to departmental and national guidelines with respect to safety and pedagogy.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of laboratory operation.
  • Knowledge of management and supervision principles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work from a ladder.
  • Ability to lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to do minor electronic and mechanical repairs.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years of teaching experience which includes two years of supervisory experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
