STEM Education Postdoc at Indiana-Bloomington

Open Position for Postdoctoral or Visiting Research Associate in STEM Education

This position is a one-year position for a postdoctoral or visiting research associate in science education at Indiana University School of Education - Bloomington.  The focus of this position will be on a new project using multiple nationally representative data sets to investigate: a) patterns in high school course-taking sequences and their connection with postsecondary outcomes and b) college to career pathways.  Work on this project will entail data cleaning, analysis and dissemination.  We are looking for someone with quantitative research skills, a publication record and a demonstrated interest in STEM education. 

Salary is competitive, and based on qualifications and experience.  The position comes with full healthcare benefits. The appointment is for one year, with the potential for renewal for a second year, and an intended start date in October 2015. It is expected that the individual hired for this position will be in the local area for the majority of their employment. 

Minimum qualificationsA completed doctorate in a STEM-related educational field or statistics by the time employment begins; research experience and publications in STEM education; strong writing and communication skills; demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis and work with large state or federal datasets.  Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, expertise in quantitative methods (including multilevel modeling and survival analysis), previous experience with analysis of large educational datasets.
