Job Summary:
The Full-Time Physical Sciences Faculty Member will teach physical sciences, geology, and related courses to a diverse student population. The candidate will participate on faculty committees and perform other duties related to teaching at a community college. The Full-Time Physical Sciences Faculty Member must stay abreast of trends in physical science pedagogy and community college instruction. The responsibilities and duties of the Full-Time Physical Sciences Faculty Member may change as the needs of the college arise.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in geology, physical sciences, or closely related field, in addition to possessing 18 graduate credit hours in geology. The candidate will have excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as advanced computer literacy.
Desirable Qualifications:
18 graduate hours in physics or closely related field and ability to teach astronomy courses. Post-master's level work physical sciences or closely related field. Academic preparation and teaching experience in all levels of physical sciences. Experience working with culturally diverse students. Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning. Ability to demonstrate the Morton College core values of truth, compassion, fairness, responsibility and respect.
