Job Summary/Basic Function: Developing, planning, and teaching lessons for the 6th grade STEM Foundations course that is appropriate and challenging students at the Dayton Regional STEM School.
Minimum Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree.
•Current teacher certification/licensure and/or strong experiences collaboratively devising creative, quality projects with students.
•Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications •Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
•Current teaching license that includes specifically grades 6-8.
•A strong foundation in working with different ethnic groups, cultures and socio-economic groups and experiences in fostering diversity as a classroom leader.
Essential Functions and percent of time: Teach and assess students in the assigned classes in ways that align with the mission and qualities promoted by the Dayton Regional STEM School. (70%)
Work with teachers in other disciplines, as well as partners of the school, to develop lessons, units, and projects that transcend typical discipline boundaries. (20%)
Participate in the planning for the 2013-2014 school year. (10%)
