The Mount Holyoke College Physics Department (https://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/physics) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin fall 2016. We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment, and to a vigorous, on-campus, externally-funded research program involving undergraduates that complements the existing research strengths of the department. A doctorate (anticipated or completed) in physics or a related field with the ability to teach across the physics curriculum is required. Excellent facilities and technical support for research are available on campus, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities at nearby University of Massachusetts.

Mount Holyoke is an undergraduate liberal arts college for women with 2,200 students and 220 faculty. Over half the faculty are women; one-fourth are persons of color. Mount Holyoke College is located about 80 miles west of Boston in the Connecticut River valley, and is a member of the Five College Consortium consisting of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts.
