Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for two, nine-month, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor of Education faculty positions. One position is in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education in the Bagwell College of Education, and one is in the College of Science and Math. The primary responsibilities of these nine-month, non-tenure track faculty positions include teaching or co-teaching undergraduate courses and supervising the field experiences of secondary science education candidates as a “Master Teacher” in the OwlTeach program. Other teaching and supervision assignments may be made for education courses.
Additional responsibilities include serving on OwlTeach, department, college, and university committees related to education, as well as demonstrating active involvement in teacher education and community outreach.
Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):Candidates should possess experience with reform-based pedagogy, strong leadership skills, willingness to recruit into the teaching profession and a dedication to new teacher mentoring and professional development. Primary responsibilities will include teaching and service. A Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or physics, or in biology, chemistry, physics, or science education, or in a related field, or the foreign equivalent, is required. Eighteen graduate credit hours in education are required, but eighteen graduate credit hours in science is ideal. A doctorate degree in any of the cited disciplines or a related field is ideal. A minimum of three years of middle grades or secondary science teaching is also required (public school experience is ideal); at least five years experience is ideal.
