FT, Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Physics beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year. This position is in the Department of Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences.  The department offers undergraduate majors in biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, and environmental studies. CUW is a Christian university (LCMS) that emphasizes the integration of faith and learning in all areas.

Academic Responsibilities

The successful candidate should expect to teach introductory algebra- and calculus-based physics courses and develop/teach additional courses leading to a physics minor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the interest in and ability to include undergraduates in a research program.  Additional responsibilities include committee work, advising, and department development.

Education and Experience

A doctorate in physics is preferred, although highly qualified applicants possessing significant progress (ABD) toward a doctorate will be considered.  Preference will be given to a computational or experimental physicist.  Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.  Moreover, candidates should be committed to student learning and professional development.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, faculty, exempt position.
