JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Physics at the University of Florida invites applications for a position at the rank of lecturer to begin January 2017. This position has the following specifications: full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track, time-limited, and renewable. Primary duties include course development and teaching of online introductory physics courses for the UF Online program. An earned master's degree in physics, or in a closely related discipline with the relevant coursework, is required, and an earned doctorate is preferred. A demonstrated record of teaching excellence and prior experience with online courses or physics education research are desirable.
The Department of Physics has approximately 40 active faculty members, conducts research in a broad spectrum of areas, and teaches from the introductory undergraduate to advanced graduate levels. It has recently created an innovative "light board" studio for recording online lectures and for conducting live broadcasts that is used by Physics and by other departments across the University.
