Job Summary: Nine-month, non-tenure track position based at the Hattiesburg campus. Will teach a range of physics courses including algebra and calculus-based general physics as well as a variety of undergraduate and graduate physics courses.
Duties and Responsibilities: Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations. Teaches a range of introductory and advanced undergraduate courses such as mechanics, modern physics, and quantum mechanics. May also teach graduate courses. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing online algebra/trigonometry-based general physics courses in addition to teaching traditional lecture format physics courses. Responsibilities also include engagement in course development, student advisement, service activities, and other duties as assigned by the department.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Physics or a closely related field from an accredited university and a demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the university level. Applicants with a Ph.D. in a field other than physics must possess a master's degree in physics. Applicants must have at least five years of full-time college-level teaching experience as well as significant experience in using online tools (e.g. Blackboard) for course support. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the time of their application.

Preferred Qualifications: Extensive teaching experience using Blackboard.
