Job Summary – The Associate or Assistant Professor of Physical Science will teach a full academic load consisting of 24-27 hours per nine-month academic year. Courses taught will depend on departmental need and the applicant’s experience and expertise, and are likely to include:
General education physical science courses
Lower and upper level chemistry courses
Forensic science courses
Closely related engineering science courses
Other duties will include:
Prepare for and teach labs as assigned
Adhere to laboratory safety and hazardous waste disposal standards
Oversee undergraduate student research projects in physical science and chemistry
Contribute professionally to the faculty body and the university
Minimum Qualifications – Master’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years of directly related experience and/or training. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or a sub-discipline is preferred, ABD will be considered as will 18 hours of upper level applicable course work with teaching experience. Experience teaching general education physical sciences, general chemistry and analytical chemistry is preferred.
