The Physics Department at Juniata College, a selective liberal arts
college of 1600 students located in Huntingdon, PA, invites
applications
for a fixed-term Assistant Professor for up to 3 years, subject to
annual renewal, starting in August 2017. We are seeking candidates
vitally interested in teaching undergraduate physics. Responsibilities
will include teaching courses at all levels of the undergraduate
curriculum, possibly including introductory physics and environmental
physics laboratories.
A Ph.D. or ABD in physics or a related field is
required.
Although teaching is the primary responsibility of this
position, opportunities for research involving students or in
collaborations with current faculty in physics education research,
astronomy, optics, microfluidics, or nuclear detection are available.
The
Physics Department supports approximately 50 Physics and Engineering
Physics majors, and graduates an average of 10 students each year. We
enjoy a strong student presence characterized by vibrant interactions
with faculty.
