FT Applied Physics Lecturer, Arizona State

The Science and Mathematics faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts on the Polytechnic Campus at Arizona State University invites applications for an Applied Physics Lecturer with a start date of August 2017. The Lecturer will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes faculty and other instructional staff dedicated to quality instruction in applied physics, biology, and
chemistry. The Lecturer is expected to provide innovative teaching techniques, and will work alongside other physics faculty and staff in Science and Mathematics to support a degree program in Applied Physics. In addition to a typical course load of four (4) courses a semester, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in 20% service to the institution and profession as appropriate. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible position renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Salary is competitive to commensurate with experience.
Candidate must reside in Arizona, or be willing to relocate. Background check required prior to employment. Official transcripts required prior to first day of employment.

Required Qualifications:
 An earned Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field at the time of appointment
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Evidence of excellent teaching ability

Desired Qualifications:
 Two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
 Experience in course management systems such as Blackboard
 Experience in the design of lecture curriculum using innovative teaching techniques and modes of delivery
 Experience working in a collaborative environment within and across disciplines
