PhD student or Postdoc, University of Amsterdam Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences

Job description
The primary task is to conduct research in the project ‘Measurement bias in educational research':
*Studying the relevant literature;
*Developing or improving statistical methods;
*Investigating method through simulation research;
*Applying the methods to empirical data of educational research;
*Writing articles for international academic journals.

In addition:
*Assisting in teaching of methods and statistics;
*The PhD student is also required to take courses in statistics;
*The Postdoc may be required to teach a full course.

Requirements
*Required education/skills:
*Master degree in a relevant subject, preferably in methods and statistics in the social sciences;
*Interest in methods and statistics;
*Proficiency in writing English.
Additional requirements for Postdoc candidates:
*PhD in a relevant subject, preferably in methods and statistics in the social sciences;
*Experience in conducting research;
*Publications in international academic journals.

Conditions of employment
Employment basis: Temporary for specified perio
A PhD appointment will be full-time (38 hours a week) for a period of four years. Gross monthly salary goes from € 2.000 in the first year to € 2.558 in the fourth year.

A Postdoc appointment will be full-time (38 hours a week) for a period of two years. Gross monthly salary ranges from € 2.330 to € 3.678.
