Tenure Track at Alma College

The Department of Physics at Alma College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 2009. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate include excellence in teaching classes and laboratories across the curriculum for traditional physics and pre-engineering majors, creating new departmental strengths, and establishing a research program that can involve undergraduates. Current priority is revising our 100-level sequence to better address the needs of life-science students, with a view to possible development of associated higher-level offerings in areas such as biophysics or biomechanics. Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field required; relevant teaching experience desirable.
