TT at Texas A&M - Commerce

The Department of Physics at Texas A&M University-Commerce invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Science Education starting August 2009. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in one of the physical sciences (physics and/or astronomy preferred). Successful postdoctoral research experience and experience working with K-12 science teachers is desired. The successful candidate must have a commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will teach upper level integrated science courses to pre-service and in-service science teachers in K-12 schools. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded independent research program in science education and/or in physics/astronomy. Founded in 1889, Texas A&M University-Commerce is a senior public institution with an academic enrollment of approximately 9,000 including about 4,000 graduate students.
