Lecturer at UT-Austin

The Department of Physics is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track Lecturer position from 8/15/2012 through 8/15/2013.

This position consists of a nine-month, non tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Lecturer and a three-month summer administrative appointment for a total of 12 months of support.The position is renewable on an annual basis depending on job performance and class enrollments.

Duties include teaching of an introductory physics course using the "Matter and Interactions" curriculum (matterandinteractions.org), the development of innovative new course materials including computational modeling exercises, interactive class exercises, homework problems, and test problems, and the coordination of several sections of the course. The Lecturer will also help train and coordinate the graduate Teaching Assistants and the undergraduate Learning Assistants associated with the course.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in physics and teaching experience are required. Previous experience with the Matter and Interactions curriculum is preferred.
