T or TT in Science/Math Ed at UT Dallas (Math)

Editor's Note: There are two Science/Math Ed positions open at UT-Dallas, this one focusing on Math and the other on Chemistry.


The Science/Mathematics Education Department in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas seeks a faculty member with a strong mathematics background and a strong interest in the improvement of STEM education in K-12 schools and in lower division courses at UTD. Faculty are expected to contribute energetically to departmental goals, to the Master of Arts in Teaching/Mathematics Education -- which serves in-service secondary teachers, to UTeach-Dallas -- which prepares STEM majors and postbaccalaureates as secondary science and mathematics teachers, and to the delivery and improvement of UTD foundation courses in mathematics. UTD is a research university, and successful candidates are expected to teach well (including the development and testing of new approaches and materials) and to develop and carry out research programs leading to publications in nationally recognized journals. PhD in Mathematics (or closely related fields) or PhD in Mathematics Education with an equivalent of an MS in Mathematics required. Rank is open.
