Georgia Regents University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Chemistry and Physics. This position is tenure track and begins fall 2014.
Housed in the College of Science and Mathematics, the Psychology Department includes eleven full-time and approximately fourteen adjunct faculty members, two staff members, and over a dozen graduate assistants. Our facilities include space for therapy, assessment, and clinical observation as well as human and animal research labs. We serve approximately 300 undergraduate psychology majors and 40 graduate students. The department has an established Master's program with a MPAC-accredited clinical track, a thesis experimental track, and an applied experimental track.
Augusta is the state's second largest metropolitan area and is within easy driving distance of Atlanta, Charleston, Savannah, and Charlotte, as well as mountains and beaches. The area provides affordable housing options and is well-known for golf. Augusta is one of the leading medical centers in the southeast. In addition to the Georgia Health Sciences University (including the Medical College of Georgia and Colleges of Nursing, Dentistry, and Allied Health), the city is home to Fort Gordon and Eisenhower Hospital, a regional state mental hospital, Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, and a Veterans Administration facility with both general medical and psychiatric campuses.

Effective January 9, 2013, Georgia Health Sciences University consolidated with Augusta State University to become Georgia Regents University. The consolidated university consists of nine colleges on two campuses. The Health Sciences Campus consists of the Medical College of Georgia, College of Dental Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Allied Health Sciences, and the College of Graduate Studies. The Summerville Campus consists of the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Hull College of Business; College of Education; and College of Science and Mathematics.
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Physics or related field required.
