The ideal candidates will have the flexibility and experience to teach a wide variety of courses spanning the discipline of physics, math and sciences in general. This position involves joining the faculty in our BA programs in Liberal Arts. In addition to the attributes listed below, successful applicants will be able to teach physics, math and sciences at the undergraduate levels. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ·Teach approximately 3 courses per term, including courses such as calculus based physics, developmental to college level math classes, and general education science classes. Course load could include a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and distance courses. ·Contribute to course and program-level design, redesign, assessment and implementation for various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and distance courses). ·Possibly contribute, mentor and/or evaluate undergraduate capstone research. ·Service to the University including mentoring of adjunct faculty. ·Student advising. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: ·Ph.D. in Physics or related field from an accredited institution. ·Experience in teaching a variety of courses, particularly at the undergraduate level. ·Experience in design, instruction, and assessment of courses. ·Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students and community partners. ·Commitment to professional growth and development and to continued innovation and improvement in linking teaching-learning-scholarship-service. REMUNERATION Commensurate with rank and experience.
