TT Physics&Engineering, Raritan Valley CC NJ

Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for Forty years, offers over 90 associate degrees and certificates, customized training and continuing education. The College's 240-acre campus lies at the crossroads of central New Jersey in North Branch. Instructor - Physics & Engineering, Tenure Track RVCC is currently accepting applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position in Physics and Engineering in anticipation for Fall 2014. Initial salary will be based on the successful candidate's educational qualifications and professional experience. The College also offers an attractive employee benefits package.

 Responsibilities included but not limited to: *Instruct physics and engineering courses to physics, engineering, science and non-science majors.
 *Teach algebra and calculus based physics and engineering courses and laboratories.
 *Establish collaboration with local engineering industries. *Commitment to the comprehensive mission of a community college.
 *Commitment to the principles of a learning centered institution. *Instruct courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
 *Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing, utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
 *Demonstrate or be willing to acquire skills for instructing on-line courses.
 *Regularly evaluate courses to ensure that learning outcomes and assessments are appropriate and effective.
 *Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
 *Provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communications and other appropriate methods.
 *Assist with Departmental strategic planning and outcomes assessment.
 *Maintain currency and professional development in technology and pedagogy.
 *Participate in college/departmental professional development activities.
 *Serve on College-wide committees.
 *Adhere to all College policies and procedures. Requirements: *Required Minimum Qualifications:
 Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Physics or Engineering required.
 Minimum of two years of prior teaching experience.
 Experience with computer-based data acquisition laboratory equipment required.
 Knowledge of current initiatives in instructional approaches.

 *Preferred Additional Qualifications:
 Ph. D. preferred.
 Ability to teach introductory astronomy courses desired.
 Ability to involve undergraduate students in research is desired.
 Manufacuturing work experience.
