TT/T Science Education at Quinnipiac U, CT

The School of Education at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor) in the Masters of Arts in Teaching Program, to begin August 2014.
 
The School of Education at Quinnipiac University is nationally accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and offers a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree, a Master of Science in Teacher Leadership, a Sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership, and a Certificate of Completion in Special Education.

Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of undergraduate and graduate education courses, with particular expertise in science education at the elementary and secondary levels (including methods of science teaching). Additional responsibilities of the position include candidate advising, curriculum and program development, and providing leadership within the department on issues related to science education as it pertains to teaching and teacher education.

Minimum qualifications include: an earned doctorate in science education (or closely related field); three or more years of successful k-12 teaching experience; a strong record and/or potential for research/scholarship in education; a demonstrated commitment to social justice and multicultural education; strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; and the potential and desire to participate in service to the university and outside community. Preference will be afforded to applicants who demonstrate strong knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards, the integration of technology in teaching and learning, teaching and/or advising at the university level, and success in obtaining external funding for research or curriculum development.
