Sales Physicist at Sapling Learning

Sapling Learning is hiring a Sales Physicist and Astronomer to join our team as a full time employee, located in Austin, TX.

The Sales Physicist and Astronomer is responsible for demonstrating the features and benefits of Sapling Learning’s online homework system for physics and astronomy. The Sales Physicist and Astronomer is a scientist who will use their subject expertise and sales technique to convert the buyer into a customer. The individual will sell to instructors utilizing web-based presentations. The Sales Physicist and Astronomer will deal almost exclusively with customers that have already been vetted by Sapling Learning Account Managers (no cold-calling) and that have confirmed a clear interest in our solutions.

The successful candidate will be excited about discussing physics and astronomy and the benefits of a market-leading science learning solution. Created and supported by educators, Sapling Learning’s online homework drives student success and saves educators time. In limited instances, the possibility of travel may exist.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• To develop a keen understanding of the way Sapling Learning can help both educators and students.
• Present the benefits of the Sapling Learning’s instructional online homework solution with the ultimate goal of closing business.
• Work with the marketing team in the development of materials that can be distributed digitally.
• Communication/collaboration with Sales Team, Content, Product & Marketing
• Following-up with instructors and prospects to help maximize closed business.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be comfortable in selling the Sapling Learning solution to prospects
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• A proven capability to present in front of both small and large groups, digitally and in person
• Must possess strong computer skills and proven ability to master new software systems
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong consultative, driven approach, which is customer concentrated
• Must be able to receive instruction and have the flexibility to alter approach and techniques based on feedback
• Must have recent experience teaching in Higher Education, preferably using online homework system
• Comfortable discussing various topics within physics and astronomy education

EDUCATION
M.S./M.A. or PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, or related field.
