FT in Natural Science, Landmark College, VT

Landmark College, located in beautiful southeastern Vermont, offers 2- and 4- year programs and is the nations premier institution of higher educations for students who learn differently.  We seek a faculty member to join our dynamic and growing Natural Science Department at the Assistant Professor rank, as we support our current and evolving STEM majors and as we prepare to construct a new STEM Center facility in 2014.  Primary responsibilities will include the teaching of lecture and laboratory courses in introductory biology, biochemistry and introductory chemistry, along with upper-level courses in the faculty members discipline of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A doctoral degree in a natural science or science educations field is preferred.  Evidence of scholarship in the field, particularly in terms of research programs that can involve undergraduate students, is expected.  An understanding of working with students who have specific learning disabilities (as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD] and Autism Spectrum Disorders) in the learning environment is desirable.  Ideal candidates have experience teaching using the principles of universal design for instruction, and experience teaching at a college level.  Other characteristics we are looking for include ability to work as part of a team, a willingness to develop grant proposals, and evidence of superior communication and organization skills.  The start date for this position is fall 2014.
