T in Science/Math Education at Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge LA


Southern University and A&M College is a historically black college located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Baton Rouge campus is located on Scott’s Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in the northern section of the City of Baton Rouge.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a minimum of two graduate courses per semester, direct and serve on dissertation committees, establish a research program, solicit funding, publish in referred journals, make presentations at conferences, serve on departmental and institutional committees, recruit students, and otherwise contribute to the success of the program.
The successful candidate must have (1) an earned Ph.D. in a science or mathematics discipline or in education, (2) a master's degree or equivalent in physics, chemistry, biology, geology, mathematics, or computer science, and (3) a strong research and publication record in science or mathematics education. Preference will be given to candidates with successful grant expression, familiarity with educational technology and distance education, and experience in teaching graduate-level courses and directing doctoral research. Someone with a strong background in statistics is highly desired.
