VAP at Berry College GA

Berry College invites applications for a one-year faculty position in physics beginning August 2015.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) or Master’s (for appointment as Instructor) in physics or a closely related field and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate physics teaching.  Teaching duties include introductory algebra-based physics and upper-division classical mechanics (12 contact hours per semester).  The department supports the use of active learning strategies.  Send cover letter, CV, copies of transcripts, statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference to: Todd Timberlake, Department of Physics, Astronomy & Geology, Berry College, Mount Berry, GA 30149-5004 or electronically to ttimberlake@berry.edu.  Review of applications will begin March 15, 2015 and will continue until the position is filled.
