FT Instructional Assistant Professor, Texas A&M Galveston

The Department of Marine Sciences at Texas A&M University, Galveston Campus (TAMUG), invites applications for a full-time (nine-month/year), non-tenure track Instructional Assistant or Associate Professor in Physics. A Ph.D. in Physics is preferred but an M.Sc. in Physics with relevant experience will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the freshman level and experience with integrating technology in their courses. A strong research background and experience in mentoring undergraduate or graduate students is considered a plus. Faculty on the instructional professor track is expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate students, and to also have strong credentials in either research or service. He/she is expected to teach College and University Physics courses and possibly other courses as appropriate to TAMUG’s marine and/or maritime programs. Other duties for the department will include service as an academic advisor to students enrolled in the Marine Science Department. The multidisciplinary offerings of the Department of Marine Sciences include the physical sciences, oceanography and resource management and environmental policy.
