Assistant Professor of Practice (FT, NTT), University of Nebraska Lincoln

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice to teach Astronomy and Physics courses beginning fall semester 2016. 
This is a non-tenure track position with a 9-month academic year appointment and full benefits. There are no assigned duties during the summer months, but there are opportunities for summer teaching for additional salary. 
Responsibilities will include teaching multiple astronomy and/or physics courses at all levels in the curriculum, managing Teaching Assistants assigned to the courses, curriculum development, holding at least four office hours per week, and support various outreach activities within the department. In addition to teaching, a fraction of the appointment will be devoted to research and outreach (details subject to negotiation), which is expected to include undergraduate students. 
Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Physics and at least one year of teaching experience. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated teaching ability. 
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
