Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Physics at Lamar University (Texas State University System) invites
applications for an Instructor Position in Physics. The position is available in
September 2019 and can be renewed annually based on performance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
The position requires a minimum of an earned Master's degree in Physics, with a PhD in
Physics being preferred.

Candidates must have had experience teaching in Physics at the university/college level.
Ideal candidates are expected to have a commitment to education at all levels, demonstrate
excellence in English proficiency, and be capable of supervising undergraduate research.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work with students from diverse
backgrounds and will be expected to teach both lectures and labs for elementary and general
(algebra-based and calculus-based) Physics courses. Opportunities will further exist for the
candidate to teach junior/senior-level courses.
