Lecturer - Physics - (FAC001041)  Organization : H0112 Physics  Salary Commensurate with experience   Description : The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks applicants for a Lecturer position beginning in the fall semester of 2019. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or related discipline and strong communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching undergraduate physics or astronomy using research-based methods, in physics education research, and/or in undergraduate curriculum development. Lecturer ranks is a non tenure-track position and the salary is offered on a 9-month basis. The successful applicant will be expected to teach three courses per semester; summer teaching may be available but is not required. Lecturer - Physics - (FAC001042)  Organization : H0112 Physics  Salary 45,000-55,000   Description : The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks applicants for a Lecturer position beginning in the fall semester of 2019. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics and strong communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching undergraduate physics or astronomy using research-based methods, in physics education research, and/or in undergraduate curriculum development. Lecturer rank is a non tenure-track position and the salary is offered on a 12-month basis. The successful applicant will teach one course each fall and spring semester, and supervise the four freshman laboratories during the fall, spring, and summer terms. Laboratory supervision includes, but is not limited to, setting up the experiments each week, meeting weekly with TAs, modifying current experiments and developing new ones, keeping pre-laboratory exercises current, writing quizzes and final examinations, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, updating videos, keeping laboratory information on Blackboard, purchasing new equipment, enrolling students in laboratories, and assigning final course grades.
