VAP at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

The department of physics and optical engineering anticipates a visiting faculty position starting August 2011. The department offers a B.S. degree in physics, B.S. degree in engineering physics and a B.S. and M.S. in optical engineering. The department operates a modern teaching/research observatory as well as active research and development programs in semi conductors, nano technology, fiber optics, electro-optics, optical fibers, astronomy, lens design, holography, photorefractive materials, x-ray fluorescence, optical metrology, biomedical optics, non-linear optics, semiconductors, magneto-optics, laser physics, and semiconductor optics and participates in several innovative curriculum experiments and educational development. The Center for Applied Optics Studies provides exceptional opportunities for professional development and interaction with industry. Outstanding teaching is the most significant criterion for success at Rose-Hulman. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower and upper division courses in optics and lower division courses in physics.
