VAP or Lecturer at State University of New York College at Plattsburgh

The Physics Department at State University of New York College at Plattsburgh invites applications for a temporary, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor or Lecturer position, commencing August 2011.Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will carry a 12 contact hour teaching load per semester, including lecture and laboratories for an Introductory Physics for Scientists and Engineers course, and 1 or 2 advanced courses depending upon specialty.

Required Qualifications: A Ph. D. in Physics or Engineering, with a broad background in the field, is preferred, although a Master's Degree would be sufficient for the rank of Visiting Lecturer. A strong commitment to teaching undergraduate courses at all levels, possibly including courses for non-majors, is required. Salary: Minimum salary $38,000 (Lecturer) with excellent benefits.
