The St. Olaf College Physics Department is seeking to fill three 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor positions for Academic Year 2011-2012: two of these are full-time positions (1.0 FTE) and the third is a part-time position (0.33 FTE).
Primary Responsibilities (each position): Teach a combination of lecture and laboratory courses in physics with a load of 6 course equivalents for the full-time position and 2 course equivalents for the part-time position. Potential audiences include physics majors, math and other science majors, and students seeking to satisfy a General Education requirement in Natural Science.

Job Requirements
Ph.D. in physics (or in a closely related field with a strong physics foundation) and demonstrated potential for high-quality undergraduate classroom and laboratory teaching in a residential liberal arts college setting. Strong candidates nearing completion of the Ph.D. may also be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor.
