LeTourneau University School of Arts and Sciences Department of Chemistry & Physics Tenure Track Position Assistant Professor of Physics

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teach a full-time load of physics courses, involving preparation of course materials and assessments. • Conduct laboratory instruction conforming to best practices including those for safety. • Obtain laboratory equipment and supplies for instruction including undergraduate research. • Empower and supervise undergraduate research. • Participate actively in the University learning community, including committees, seminars, and department meetings. • Participate in student advising and success programs. • Maintain a commitment to academic scholarship in field of expertise. QUALIFICATIONS: LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning. • Earned doctorate in physics • Demonstrated teaching competencies must include the ability to design and teach freshman to senior level physics courses. • Interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally interact with students, colleagues and administrators in a university learning community. • Experience and skills in physics research transferable to research that will involve undergraduate students.
