VAPs at Valaparaiso University

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Valparaiso University invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions: (1) for the spring 2012 semester; and (2) for the 2012-2013 academic year. Candidates may apply for one or both of these positions. Candidates who possess the Ph.D. are preferred. The duties of the position involve quality undergraduate teaching of physics and possibly astronomy. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Valparaiso University is a highly regarded private university with 3000 undergraduates located 50 miles SE of Chicago. Areas of active research in the Department include nuclear and particle physics, stellar astrophysics, condensed matter physics, surface physics, and atmospheric physics. Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition.
