ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS

The Department of Physics and Astronomy seeks to fill a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the 2012-13 academic year. The department seeks an individual with a record of accomplishment in physics education research. The department presently consists of 22 faculty members with major research groups in condensed matter physics, biophysics, and astronomy. The successful applicant should have the following minimum requirements: (1) Ph.D. degree in physics or related field; (2) post-doctoral and research/teaching experience commensurate with rank; and (3) evidence of the ability to establish and maintain a successful research program in physics education research which complements existing research programs in the department and shows a high probability and/or evidence for obtaining extramural funding.
